Gillian's debut novel—her darkest, most twisted, and freakiest of them all. Read it before it becomes an HBO miniseries.
Good to know
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: she must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful thirteen-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims—a bit too strongly. Dogged by her own demons, she must unravel the psychological puzzle of her own past if she wants to get the story—and survive this homecoming.

Another twisted, psychological thriller by Gillian Flynn…such a fantastic author! Just when you think you have it all figured out…you realize you don’t. Keeps you guessing until the very end. So good!
I’m not sure how I feel about this book. In between loved and liked. I almost never get disturbed by anything and this book made my skin crawl. Gillian Flynn got the job done, I have no other words!
This book gave me chills. I couldn’t put it down at times, it was so good! I wasn’t crazy about the “romantic relationships” I felt they were a little cheesy. But, everything else was perfect!

I know Gillian Flynn is a famous author but I've never read a single book of hers. Once I heard this is about to be an HBO mini-series I knew I needed to jump on this. Definitely lives up to the hype

It's no secret that Gillian Flynn can write, and she definitely did not disappoint with this one. The story is very well-crafted and alluring. I was so excited when HBO made a limited series out of it
Wowza. I felt like the first half didn't have me guessing too much, but the last half I was second guessing everything at every page turn! Will probably read again just to catch every clue I missed!

Much like the blade on the books cover this story slices you to the bone. This is a story that is relatable and real because it can happen to anyone. This could be anyone’s town. Anyone’s child.
I really enjoyed Flynn's writing because she knows how to put together a good thriller and keeps audiences on the edge of their seats. I really enjoyed how gritty it became as the characters unraveled
Twisted, deranged, and seriously f-ed up. If that’s the type of verbiage you look for in a story description, you’re going to love this one. Full of sociopaths, It definitely lived up to the hype.
I read this book after seeing the TV show. The story is really good and I enjoyed it very much and they tied up some loose ends that were left from the show. I would recommend but also loved the show!
I'm a big fan of Gillian Flynn so Sharp Objects was a no brainer for me. I love her descriptive details and I'm a sucker for a good mystery-thriller. It was also a nice, short read, finished in a day!
WOW. Just wow. There were parts that took me by surprise and parts that didn't. What a fantastic job Gillian did of providing pieces for us to put together the puzzle. A fast read, and well worth it!
I swear I had the mystery pegged as to "who done it" halfway in... but much to my surprise, with every turn of the page I was wrong. This book is riveting and kept me in suspense. I loved every page!
I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down. I accidentally threw it away on Chapter 5 so I had to get a Kindle version to finish it. I should know better than to think I have it all figured out!
This story was very compelling. I found myself not only relating to the main character but sympathizing with her. The ending was chilling, I was so sure I knew what was going to happen! I was wrong!

I was completely captivated with this one from start to finish. I couldn't stop thinking about it whenever I wasn't reading it. It really got under my skin. Disturbing and sinister but a great read!
This was a strange book and at first i didn’t think id like it but after giving it a chance i found myself tied to the main character rooting for her to overcome her past and overcome her future!

Gillian Flynn is an artist with her words. You can always aspect her novels to have unexpected twists even though you figured out part of the ending. I love how she still made the characters alive.
Short easy book to read. A little difficult following the characters with such similar names and circumstances. Wasn't expecting the outcome at all which doesn't solve itself until the last pages.
I didn't think Flynn could get any darker than Dark Places or Gone Girl, but she does with her first novel Sharp Objects. Good god this woman! It's deliciously evil and remarkably unpredictable.
