Announcing our New Choosing Experience!
Introducing a new way to choose your BOTM
Book of the month
You may have noticed a new look on our site. We've been working on it for several months and we're excited to share it with you! Over the last year we've received suggestions from thousands of members about what types of information are most helpful in the book choosing process. And after spending many hours reviewing all of the great ideas, three major ideas stood out:
The Quick Take: Members asked us to provide a faster way to discover whether a book is right for you. So we added our Quick Take—a short overview to get you on your way. And we coupled it with icons to provide other "good to know'" information.
Member Thoughts: Members asked to know what other members think. So we've made over 100,000 member ratings and comments available right on each book product page. (These ratings may not appear until enough members have read a particular book!)
Genre: While each selection is unique in some way, members consistently asked us to genre as a general guideline. So you can find it prominently featured in blue, right above the title.
Oh, and one other point'”we've made our past selections browsable by genre as well on the "Add Extras'" page. Feel free to search by genre for your new favorite read. Happy choosing!
A quick update ...
Since rolling out these changes, we've learned that more of you value the unique perspective and nuance provided by the essays than we thought. While our site and the content on it look a little different this month, the process we use to make our selections hasn't changed. We've explained more about this in a new post here. Based on all this great feedback, we are working on ways to include our judges' input (and other helpful info) in the coming months' and we think you'll love it. (P.S., look out for Liberty next month ;))
The main thing is, we are always looking for the best ways to introduce readers like you to amazing new books by talented up-and-coming authors. If you have additional suggestions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'd love to hear from you. Thanks for being a member!
