To compliment our first exclusive selection, Swimming Lessons, Book of the Month teamed up with lead actors from the hit TV show The Affair to figure out why infidelity is such an intriguing topic for artists and writers to explore.

"I think people are fascinated by the dark side of seemingly happy people," said actor Dominic West, who plays the show's lead character Noah Soloway, an author drawn to a woman who is not his wife. Judge Steph Opitz found the same theme running through Swimming Lessons: "ultimately it's about a couple whose individual ambitions complicate their relationship in ways that are both relatable and devastating."
