Why I love it

Book of the Month

Bestselling author Anna Quindlen has a long history with Book of the Month '“we've featured many of her titles over the years, and she even served as one of our judges in the early 2000s. Her latest work is a coming of age novel set in Miller’s Valley, Pennsylvania, in the 1960s. The novel follows a young girl, Mimi Miller, through the changing eras of her life, as family secrets are revealed and she overcomes the heartbreaks of growing up and falling in love. The publisher calls it 'œa masterly study of family, memory, loss, and, ultimately, discovery, of finding true identity and a new vision of home.' If you’re looking for a meaningful, reflective novel with rich, complex characters, we hear it’s worth the read.

A wonderful story that spans Mimi's life from age 11 to 64. Glad I was able to get this from BOTM since it is now unavailable. Hope to see more of Ms. Quindlen's books in the future.

This was a really great coming of age story. Really made you think about the importance of home and how it influences your life. Also the concept of coming full circle was amazing.

An amazingly authentic coming of age story. Quindlen captures what it is like to grow up and to look back at one’s childhood mistakes. Great character development.

Perfect vacation/airplane read, writing is clever, honest, and transports you into the story. Staying on my bookshelf to revisit years later.
