Quick take

"Try to put this book down, I dare you. You won’t be able to."

Why I love it

Nina Sankovitch
Bestselling Author

This is a thriller with such great twists and turns, I am still catching my breath after reading it. Proper praise for this debut collaboration runs perilously close to requiring a full-blown SPOILER alert—and I don’t want to ruin a single moment of reading rapture for anyone! I’ll settle for a promise: If you want a great read with an unexpected ending—and middle and sides—choose The Wife Between Us. All your expectations will be met.

The plot is simple—at first. A young woman, energetic, optimistic, and in love, plans her wedding to the man of her dreams. Will she let an unhappy ex-wife get in the way of marital bliss? Not a chance. But chance has nothing to do with it. Now the plot thickens and we the readers are caught in the delicious web, with no way out.

From the first to the last page, the authors play with our trust issues: Whom among the cast of characters can we believe? From the "bright young thing" to the hardy old aunt, from the handsome lover to the loyal friend, everyone has a story to tell, a viewpoint to offer. And no one is above presenting themselves in the best light—and throwing everyone else into the darkest corners.

Events unfold and our bride-to-be discovers that even the best-laid plans can fall apart. Especially when no one—not one single person—is who they seem to be. A parable for our times? Appearances can be deceiving, the past always comes out, and only the determined can survive. That is the lesson of The Wife Between Us, a lesson delivered with wit, verve, and unstoppable momentum. Try to put this book down, I dare you. You won’t be able to. Like I said, I am still catching my breath.

LOVED THIS!! When other reviews said, “you don’t see this coming” kinda things... I thought... sure. So every time my brain tried to see where something was going, it was always wrong. Lots of twists!

THIS BOOK...y’all....you start thinking you know the plot, and then boom! You don’t and then you think you do, but nope. This book keeps you guessing and it’s incredible my well written. Please read!

  • Houston, TX

After the first plot twist - justice was served through to the end. Kept on my toes wondering who was crazier - the ex wife or the “perfect husband”. The epilogue; an uncalled for, fulfilling closure.

At this point I’d read ANYTHING by these authors. This book was AMAZING! A real page turner. I didn’t want to put it down as soon as I started reading it and I was sad when it ended. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

  • Pocahontas , AR

This book just totally blew my mind! I thought I knew what was going on, but it turns out I didn’t know anything! When I reached the end and I thought the plot was resolved, I was wrong again.Love it!

  • Canal Winchester, OH

I wouldn’t say it’s full of unpredictable twists. The first twist was by far the best and the last very unnecessary. I overall really liked the main character and I could feel what she was feeling.

  • Autaugaville, AL

Absolutely loved it! It was full of suspense, and the plot twist left my jaw gaping! It gets a little confusing after the PT, but the author ties everything together extremely well. Definitely recommend

  • Alexander , AR

Absolutely LOVED this book and the way the authors brought the story together. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. A definite page turner. I can’t wait to read more by Hendricks & Pekkanen!

  • New York, NY

Absolutely enamored with this choice. Though it’s not the strongest book from this writing duo. I couldn’t wait to read it each day and read quite quickly. But was a bit disappointed in the ending.

  • Nampa, ID

Twists & turns with every turn of the page. You will predict some, but others will hit you like a freight train. I couldn’t put this book down. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good read

  • St Marys, GA

This book is a must read. The description says, “assume nothing” and that’s 100% spot on. Just when you think you know, the book takes a turn...and it does it again and again too! Spine tingling!

  • Ben Wheeler , TX

Awesome read. Just when you feel like youre kind of in tune with the characters and plot, roller coaster! And you’re back to scratching your head. Well written and not the same old predictable story.

  • Celebration , FL

I have loved every single book that I’ve read by these two wonderful authors. Every time you thonk you know whats going on they throw in another twist that makes you doubt everything you already knew

  • Scarsdale, NY

One of the best books I’ve read in a long time! I loved it so much! The storyline and characters hooked me from the very beginning and I could not put it down! Very quick read lots of twists and turns

  • San Antonio, TX

This book had me all over the place. They warn you right at the beginning that it won’t be what you think. It ends up being so far off what you’d think it’s crazy but it all makes so much sense.

  • Boone, NC

This book is one that I really enjoyed. It can be hard to keep track of the double storylines at the beginning but once they melt into one, the real action starts. The cliffhanger ending is killer tho

  • Bemidji, MN

At multiple points throughout reading, I thought I had this book all figured out. WRONG. there is absolutely NO way to guess the outcome. Fabulous story written very wonderfully. One of my BOTM faves!

  • Adams, ND

I liked how this book kept me guessing. And guessing. It's almost one you need to read twice as the first half through is not what you think and changes the thought process for the rest of the book.

  • Orlando, FL

I was on my toes the entire time i was reading this book. Every time i thought i had it all figured out i was hit in the face with something that made me rethink everything and i absolutely loved it.

  • Lubbock, TX

Loved this book! It really keeps you on your toes and throws you for a loop here and there which I enjoyed. The inner twined encounters were also clever! It's a really fast read that I highly suggest.
