Emily thinks Adam’s perfect; the man she thought she’d never meet. But lurking in the shadows is a rival; a woman who covets a deep bond with him.

Emily chose Adam, but she didn’t choose Pammie, his mother. There’s nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her son, and now Emily is about to find out just how far Pammie will go to get what she wants: Emily gone forever.

Great book. I didn’t see the ending coming but knew there was something off. I had a hard time putting this book down because I needed to know. You felt for the main character and really hated the mom

  • Frankfort , KY

I really liked this book. I didn't want to put it down. I was anxious to see how it was going to end. Definitely surprised me. I hated Pammie up until the end. Wish things had turned out differently.

  • Hibbing, MN

Wow, the ending really threw me! I thought I knew what would happen but it was not what I was expecting. WARNING: This book could be triggering for anyone who’s experienced mental & emotional abuse.

  • Severna Park, MD

Fun read with a plot twist. I Liked the main character. This book is filled with the relatable inner battle of knowing someone doesn’t like you but being unable to articulate it with any real prof.

  • Tomball, TX

Alot of us have mother in laws like this women, although not quite as bad I'm sure. The ending was awesome and made me sad it was over. I couldn't stop reading it. The best book I've gotten from here.

This book caused me to say a few things out loud as I read it, such as "Why would you put up with this" and "Are you stupid girl?" and of course I had to read till the end because I was invested! :-)

What a great, twisted story. At first it was hard to get through because I had so much hatred towards Pammie but in the end I love her! I did not expect the story to unfold the way it did. Great read!

  • Oxnard, CA

This book had me from Ugh to OMG- how did I not see that coming. Perhaps one of my favorite plot twists. At a certain point I got irritated at the plot because Emily was such a push over. Must read!

  • Huntersville , NC

A story of love, control and manipulation. Lots of twists and turns and good character development. Makes you question the thru until the final chapters when everything becomes clear. Great read.

  • Springfield , IL

I was shocked at the ending! The whole time I was convinced Pammie was the problem, although I was not a fan of Adam from the very beginning! Such great twists and turns of this book! Good read!

  • Joshua, TX

the twist at the end totally got me! i felt like i had connected with Emily and i absolutely hated everything her mother-in-law was doing!! it all made sense in the end! it was very eye-opening!

  • Tampa , FL

I couldn’t put down this book, because it was that good. The ending came as a surprise, although it left me with some questions at the end. I definitely would recommend this book though.

  • Ballwin, MO

Loved this book! The narrator is feisty and determined and I wished I could encourage her to make better choices. Had me going till the very end and pumped up for the unsuspected twist.

  • Muscoda, WI

I was not expecting the book to turn out like it did. Great character development and looking forward to reading it again to pick up on the subtle things I missed the first time through

  • Maplewood, MN

I enjoyed this book and wasnt prepared for the final twist. It made me sad that the book didn't end up the way I was hoping. You can't win them all ????. It was still an enjoyable book

  • Bladenboro, NC

Love, hate, love it even more!! I couldn’t put it down. Even though I found myself hating how she was treated by so many, I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next.

  • Tampa, FL

This read was so relatable!! I could see both Emily’s and Adams viewpoints but felt so much for Emily. The twist in the last 20 pages was not what I was predicting for the ending!

  • Hyde Park, NY

Definitely did not see that ending coming, this could have played out so many ways but had a great ending, really makes you rethink some life choices and relationships after!
