Adam is the man of Emily's dreams. His mother? Her worst nightmare.

Creepy
Emily thinks Adam’s perfect; the man she thought she’d never meet. But lurking in the shadows is a rival; a woman who covets a deep bond with him.
Emily chose Adam, but she didn’t choose Pammie, his mother. There’s nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her son, and now Emily is about to find out just how far Pammie will go to get what she wants: Emily gone forever.
She looks beautiful in her wedding dress. It fits her perfectly and is exactly what I’d imagined she’d go for: elegant, understated, and unique—just like her. My heart breaks that her day will never come, but she doesn’t need to know that yet.
I think about the guests who won’t attend, the picture frames with no photographs, the first dance that will be silent, the cake that won’t get eaten, and I feel my resolve weakening. I pull myself up. This is not a time for doubt.
There is still so much work to do, so much more pain to inflict, but I will not be deterred. I failed once before, but this time, I’ll get it right.
There’s too much at stake to get it wrong.

I have never wanted to punch a character in the face the way I wanted to punch Emily. I thought about quitting the book but I’m glad I didn’t—the twist in the last two chapters changed everything!

Great book. I didn’t see the ending coming but knew there was something off. I had a hard time putting this book down because I needed to know. You felt for the main character and really hated the mom
